As preparations intensify for the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30), delegations and participants can now access detailed maps to navigate the event venue in Belém, Pará. A comprehensive transportation strategy has been developed to ensure smooth and sustainable mobility to Parque da Cidade, where the global climate summit will take place, focusing on the future of international climate governance.
Exclusive Transport for Blue Zone Participants
Delegates with access to the Blue Zone will benefit from an exclusive transportation system comprising 15 bus routes and 250 vehicles — including 40 electric buses and the remainder powered by low-emission Euro 6 technology. These routes are designed to connect key accommodation areas, including the MSC Seaview and Costa Diadema ships, directly to Parque da Cidade.
Bus stops will be clearly marked with totems or wind banners, and the system will operate 24 hours a day from November 1 to 23. Access will be restricted to those presenting a Blue Zone pass or an official UNFCCC authorization letter.
For areas not covered by the exclusive transport network, participants may use Belém City Hall’s regular bus lines, with the closest drop-off point to the venue located on Avenida Almirante Barroso.
Venue Access and Traffic Control
To ensure safety and efficient mobility, roadblocks and checkpoints will be set up around Parque da Cidade. Taxis and ride-hailing services will only be allowed to pick up and drop off passengers at Avenida Visconde de Inhaúma and Avenida Rômulo Maiorana.
There will be no parking facilities at the conference site. Private vehicles — including cars, buses, and vans — may only use Avenida Duque de Caxias for drop-off and pick-up purposes.
Promoting Sustainable Transport
In line with COP30’s environmental goals, Belém offers an extensive network of bike paths and lanes near the event area. Participants are encouraged to use sustainable mobility options, such as bicycles and electric scooters, to reach the venue and reduce their carbon footprint.
